Free Children's Cancer Support Center in San Antonio
Gabriella's Smile Foundation's Children's Cancer Support Center, at 477 Spencer Ln, San Antonio TX 78201, gives families of children with cancer a place for support, connection, and resources. It opened in the spring of 2022 as the city's first cancer support center just for children.
What's free
Every service at the Center is free, at no cost to families: parent support groups, bereavement parent groups, educational workshops, health and wellness programs, resources and referrals, and social activities for the whole family. Younger children have Jase's Playroom, and teens have the Next Level Lounge.
Who's eligible
Any family with a child diagnosed with cancer, or receiving care in the San Antonio area, before the child's 18th birthday. That includes families with a child in remission and bereaved families. Financial assistance has its own requirements; see our eligibility guidelines.
How to apply
- Fill out our family application and choose "Children's Cancer Support Center" under "Which program are you applying to?"
- Ask your child's healthcare provider to complete the healthcare provider form and send it to grants@GabriellasSmile.org or fax it to (210) 670-6201.
- A family support specialist will reach out by email and phone with the programs you qualify for.

A place for kids
Jase’s Playroom was designed exclusively for kids who visit our center.
Gabriella's Smile exists to improve the lives of children battling cancer and their families. Our MISSION is to help families, fund research, and raise awareness for DIPG and pediatric cancer.
We believe that no family should fight cancer alone and that all families should have the support and necessary resources to face the challenging diagnosis of childhood cancer.
In the Spring of 2022 our Children’s Cancer Support Center opened its doors to address this problem directly by providing special programming that offers cancer parent groups, bereavement parent groups, educational workshops, health and wellness support, resources and referrals as well as social activities for families. It’s the city’s first cancer support center exclusively for children.
Our programs are designed to empower parents by providing them with the tools necessary to improve their social connections, give them sense of control and provide a holistic approach to help them navigate their child’s cancer diagnosis. We believe that this will improve the lives and the health and wellness of both the body and mind.
The Children’s Cancer Support Center provides resources and support for families that have a child diagnosed with cancer by taking a holistic approach to help in all areas including mental and social factors affecting the entire family. These services are provided for FREE and at no cost to families of children diagnosed with cancer.
Programs offered at the center include the following:
Mental Health Support Services - support and parent networking groups for cancer families and bereaved cancer families
Resources & Referrals - connecting members to other services in the community
Health and wellness programs- through strategic partnerships with the community
Educational Workshops - presentations by experts in their field
Social Activities - fun social events for children and their families
